The ULI Europe office in London is committed to bringing timely and informative programmes to all segments of the property community in Europe. As ULI is a truly global organization, the European office also ensures that the best practices learned throughout Europe are shared and integrated into the content across ULI worldwide.

The Institute relies heavily on the experiences of its 2,300 members across Europe, who reflect the full range of disciplines that define the land use and development field, and who encompass the spectrum of experience from student through Young Leaders to revered senior industry figures.

Europe Newsletters
In addition to a monthly e-newsletter, ULI Europe publishes a quarterly printed newsletter. Released on March 10, 2010, Too Big To Fail, a new report from ULI Europe, assesses different forms of government intervention implemented since the fall of 2008 in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, France, Spain, the United States and Japan, including the impact on the real estate in those markets.

Efforts By Europe, U.S., Japan To Shore Up Ailing Financial Institutions Is Having Mixed Success, Says Too Big To Fail, A New Report From ULI Europe  (March 10, 2010) - Government intervention in different countries to shore up ailing financial institutions is having mixed success in reviving their respective economies and real estate markets, according to Too Big to Fail, a new report from the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Europe office. A common sentiment is that an industry recovery will hinge on the extent to which any immediate boost from the aid ultimately results in steady, predictable flows of private capital to real estate.

A Land Use Leader for the 21st Century: Patrick L. Phillips Named New Chief Executive Officer of the Urban Land Institute
(August 3, 2009) - Patrick L. Phillips, President and Chief Executive Officer of ERA AECOM (formerly Economics Research Associates), has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Urban Land Institute, a global research and education organization dedicated to responsible land use. Phillips is taking over the position being vacated by current ULI CEO Richard M. Rosan, who has led the Institute's staff for more than 17 years.

Facilitating a Global Land Use Information Exchange: Jeremy Newsum Is New Chairman of the Urban Land Institute(July 1, 2009) - Jeremy Newsum, Executive Trustee of the Grosvenor Estate, is the new Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a global non-profit research and education institute dedicated to responsible land use. As ULI Chairman, Newsum will serve on a voluntary basis for a two-year term that ends on June 30, 2011.

This year, the competition also included the announcement of two special award winners. The Awards for Excellence competition is widely regarded as the land use industry's most prestigious recognition program.

Jos Short Announced As New Chair of ULI United Kingdom (16 June 2009) - The Urban Land Institute (ULI) today announced that Jos Short, Founding Partner and CIO, Internos Real Investors will succeed Stephen Barter as the Chairman of ULI's District Council in the United Kingdom (ULI UK).

Brave New World: Cautious Optimism at the 2009 ULI Europe Trends Conference (22 May 2009) - Prospects for real estate investment and development in Europe highlighted discussions at a recent Urban Land Institute (ULI) trends conference, which drew more than 200 real estate and finance leaders from several countries. Held in London, the event was hosted by ULI Europe, which serves the Institute's 2,800-plus members throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

The ULI Energy Efficiency Exchange is a new web project led by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and endowed by Sir Stuart Lipton. This website will create an online exchange for industry leaders to access and share practical, current information and best practice around energy efficiency, particularly for existing buildings.

‘InfoBursts’ sessions have been a popular element of ULI Europe conferences. These 15minute expert briefings on specialist topics showcase the diverse range of subjects covered by ULI from CMBS to green leases.

ULI Europe have developed a series of hardcopy InfoBursts, supported by ECE Projektmanagement, which members will receive on a regular basis.
